Privacy
Professor Orin is designed to teach without requiring an account. Most information stays on your device.
Information stored on your device
Your profile name and chosen photo, saved games and hands, lesson progress, puzzle history, practice scores, preferences, and simulated practice balances are stored locally on your device. A profile photo you choose is provided through the system photo picker and remains on your device.
Limited anonymous analytics
The app uses PostHog in the United States for limited anonymous analytics about product use, such as whether a room or lesson was opened and whether a learning flow was completed. The app does not use PostHog identify calls, autocapture, advertising profiles, or session replay.
Analytics events do not include chess positions, move notation, poker cards, hand histories, blackjack cards, exact balances, profile photos, names, or free-form text. IP-based location collection is disabled in the analytics configuration.
Your choice
You can opt out of anonymous analytics immediately in the app under Profile → Privacy & Credits. Opting out stops future analytics events from being sent.
Accounts, ads, and purchases
The current app does not require an account and does not contain advertising. It does not support real-money gambling or cash-out. Purchases are not currently available; if they are offered later, Apple will process them under the applicable App Store terms.
